Summer is officially here, but the usual schedule of garden goods seems to be a bit off this year thanks to our cold spring. Still! There are things growing, and growing well enough to fill a few extra bags and baskets to barter.
I’m working on some jars of kimchi for this Saturday, and have the last of our over-wintered French sorrel crop to share as well.
What are you planning to bring this Saturday to our Beta Barter Day at Waterfront Park? Is there anything in particular you’d love to receive in trade? Please post a comment below and share what ya got and what ya want.
We’ll have organic eggs, homemade Greek-style organic yogurt, loaf of our favorite home baked (did I say organic again?) whole wheat walnut raisin bread, tender (I won’t say organic because now you’re getting annoyed) turnip top greens, and……surprise herbs, hand-made candles, and foraged edibles from the kids.
We NEED greens like lettuce and kale and onions any size or shape. Anyone have strawberries yet?
This site is so beautiful and well written.
I couldn’t make it to the Sat barter this morning, but would be thrilled to drive to your house to offer kale, lettuce, and/or arugula, if you are interested. I would be happy to barter for your eggs, yogurt, or bread, if you still have any left.

We’re getting about 15-20 strawberries a day. I can save a “batch” for you if you’re still wanting strawberries. I couldn’t come last Saturday, but, I’d LOVE to trade for some eggs or Yogurt if you have any?
Hey Pioneer…we’ve got dinosaur kale, heirloom lettuce, and strawberries. Would love to trade for the yogurt.
I’ve learned via Facebook that someone is planning to bring freshly-baked challah and hamburger buns.
